 EMPLOYEE BURN-OUT, BOREDOM & ENGAGEMENT

Employee burnout refers to work-related stress and this will impact the negative performance of the company. Hence companies should be able to implement their human resources policies and procedures to reduce employee burnout while increasing satisfaction of the employee. Here company should be able to recruit the most suitable people for the particular post since there should be match with the relevant post with the employee capacity. If he or she over or under-qualified for the relevant post this will be impacted employee burnout. Therefore as a company they should have a strategic plan to avoid employee burnout. They have to concern from the point of recruitment of the employee to continuous performance evaluation to measure employee burnout together with the other HR practices of the company.  Periodically HR department should evaluate the employee’s issues to reduce the adverse impact of employee burnout. If employees feel the company is considering their problems they will feel confident and the same will positively affect the enhancement of the overall performance of the company.  Employee boredom also will affect the company. Some employees are by nature boredom and the company should implement good practices to motivate them for the performance of the company. As an example, if the company will apply a performance-based payment system for employees they will be highly motivated by the workload. The immediate supervisor can appraise the employees through the close monitoring system. This will facilitate the identification of employee boredom and the supervisor has the get corrective actions to the motivation of employees and advise employees for the achievement of targets.

Employee engagement refers to building strong relationships between the employee and the company to achieve the overall objectives of the company. If there is good employee engagement it will be easy to provide a superior level of customer satisfaction. Therefore, to provide a high level of customer satisfaction company should be able to provide a good level of employee well beginning in the company.  Also, this employee engagement will provide a facility for the formal strong culture in the company. Culture plays a vital role in the company providing a safeguard for the employees for sustainable development.

I had a classic experience    related to employee burnout and boredom and engagement last week on the dress down day of my workplace. There was a young employee, he was going through break up since that he had to work overtime and through the weekends to achieve his sale targets under the high pressure from the management. This has led to him to break off his relationship as that the   other partner has stopped responding to his communication due to him being overworked and had no time for the relationship Armstrong, M. (2006). So the previous day the employee has been consuming alcohol and looked exhausted. He was scolded thrice for coming late and not submitting the presentation. While he was working on the compute the machine got stuck for a technical reason. He was already going through lot of pressure and having waited for couple of minutes he lost his   patience and hammered the   desktop which went and slammed into the floor. He screamed so hard whereas the whole office was echoing. This was a classic situation of employee burnout under exhaustion and boredom. However, I was able to recognize the situation and was able to avoid any possible penalties that the employee would have faced from the It department and the finance department due to the damage to property.

Through this experience an own personal learning outcomes I was able to be recognized that there will be employee burnout due to exhaustion in the workplace. This may be a result of depression, irritation or cynicism Stahl, G., & Crushed, A. (2000). Hence it is very important for a company to avoid that kind of employee burnout. The company should be able to get feedback for job-related activities and minimize the disadvantages of employee burnout.  Employees should not be pressurized for work and all employees of the company should be treated fairly in the company. Organizational culture should comprise team support to reduce those activities in the company S., & MacMillan, I. C. (1984). Employee bordering may be the result of a few reasons. When they do have not sufficient learning to perform the roles and responsibilities of the job they will bordering. Some employees like to undertake challenges in their working environment and if the company have not facilitated their challenges in the base working environment this will create a bordering situation for the employees P., & Nawaratne, N. N. J. (2015). Also, high workload and insufficient workload affected the employee bordering situation, and the company should be able to provide sufficient workload for the employee.

  1. Employee burnout is good rare topic to share.(Mehrad, 2019) explained that job burnout was defined as a low level of ability that appears through work stress and leads to negative attitudes towards the job, and the main point is that job burnout never goes away with rest and leave. Also, this factor can be a reason for lack of motivation towards the job, dissatisfaction and emotional exhaustion among the employees

  3. Interesting topic to touch on Insaff. To add to your discussion, People commonly employ unhealthy behaviors, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, or eating high-sugar foods, to divert their attention away from stressful situations, such as burnout. These behaviors may help them feel better in the moment, but over time, they compromise their health. Evidence suggests that denial and avoidance coping strategies, such as those exemplified by the mentioned health behaviors, are harmful to one's health (Shirom 2009).

  4. Thanks Dehara, further Adults who experience high levels of stress are also less likely to consume alcohol in moderation, exercise regularly, or eat healthily. These practices, which are frequently brought on by stress, increase one's risk for colds, depression, and cardiovascular disease, among other health issues. As per (Smith et al., 2012).Unhealthy behaviors, such as tobacco smoking, excessive alcohol intake, physical inactivity and substance misuse, account for significant morbidity and mortality worldwide.
